Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stan Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thaigo Leites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Leites's choice of entrance music: Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thaigo Leites! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Leites feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Carter's calf. Leites avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter fails to land with a series of punches.
Leites dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Carter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Carter misses with a two punch combination.
Leites closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away. Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Leites, before circling back to the center of the mat. Carter scores with a jab. Leites scores with a takedown into Carter's guard. Carter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leites's guard. Leites is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Leites is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carter is aware though and is defending well. Leites looks gassed! Carter stands up over Leites, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leites has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Carter trying to control but Leites is working from the bottom. Carter controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Leites keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully. Carter forces his way into half guard. Carter decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Leites sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Leites gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Leites uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carter. Leites takes one on the button. Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leites circles away quickly and effectively. Carter throws the left hand but Leites avoids the punch easily. Leites avoids a punch combination nicely.
Leites walks into a jab. Leites fails with an attempt to clinch.
Leites lands a jab to Carter's midsection. Carter misses with a series of wild punches.
Leites lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Leites throws out a powerful jab. Leites avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Leites. Stan Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter misses the body punch and Leites counters with a lovely straight right hand! A punch combination from Leites misses. Nice uppercut lands for Carter. That snapped Leites's head back.
Carter throws a hook to the side of Leites's head but Leites sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Carter misses with a double jab
and Leites counters with a takedown into side control. Leites is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carter has escaped the position, nice work there. Carter tries to bench press Leites off him but Leites keeps the position. Carter is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Leites is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Leites throws a strike aimed at the side of Carter's head but Carter avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Thaigo Leites will probably get the nod. That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Leites. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet. Left hook, right uppercut from Carter. Carter drops Leites with a beautiful combination! Leites stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Carter is looking for the KO!

and Leites makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Leites is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him? Carter missing with a left hand there. Leites was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Leites seems to have recovered his senses. Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet. Stan Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carter with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Carter throws a combination that misses letting Leites counter with a right hand. Carter misses with a two punch combination.
Carter misses with an uppercut. Leites saw that one coming. Carter throws a right and a left that both miss. Leites takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. No luck for Leites with that takedown attempt. Carter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Leites counters with a two punch combo. Carter tries to bum rush Leites with a series of wild strikes but Leites uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Leites is breathing heavily. Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Leites, before circling back to the center of the mat. Stan Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thaigo Leites. Carter scores with a punch to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter misses with an uppercut. Leites saw that one coming. Leites moves away from the strike by Carter. Leites gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Carter throws a nice looking combination but Leites bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carter lands a left and a right that send Leites crashing to the mat, dazed. Carter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Carter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Leites counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Leites, as that shot connected.
Carter misses with a two punch combination.
A punch combination from Carter misses. A combination from Carter does no damage. Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leites circles away quickly and effectively. Carter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Leites. Leites throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Leites will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Leites closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away. Carter throws a combination that misses and Leites counters with a thumping low kick. Carter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Leites fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Leites turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Carter thows a left - swing and a miss! Carter throws a series of punches but Leites moves out of range. Carter jabbing away but nothing is landing. Leites motions for Carter to come forward. Leites throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Carter throws a right and a left that both miss. Leites shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Leites thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carter's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leites is looking for submissions but instead, Carter has regained full guard.
Carter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Leites defends it easily. Leites wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving. Carter has control of Leites's left arm, preventing Leites from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Leites postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Leites throws and elbow that misses. Carter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Leites's guard. Nice move by Carter! Leites is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.
Leites is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Carter connects with a couple of short punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leites swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stan Carter dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Leites missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Leites has gone for a leg lock! Carter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Leites's guard. Carter trying to control but Leites is working from the bottom. Leites takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Leites is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Leites has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carter has managed to get both his arms back between Leites's legs - danger averted. Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Leites is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Leites is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Carter wants to pass the guard but Leites is keeping the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Carter swinging wildly here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Leites throws a nice inside leg kick. A jab from Carter finds it's way through Leites's defenses. Leites dodges the punch combination from Carter.

Leites is looking to work some ground and pound but Carter has wrist control. Leites drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Leites has Carter in his guard. Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Leites is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Leites is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stan Carter. I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
