Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Great drives through with a takedown into guard.
Luiz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Great has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Great throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Luiz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Great stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Luiz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Great drops back looking for a leg! Luiz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Luiz manages to kick Great off! Great jumps back into Luiz's guard.
Great is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Great accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Luiz keeping full guard, as Great tries to pass.
Great thows a big elbow that misses.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Great misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Luiz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Great swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No luck for Great with that takedown attempt.
Luiz shoots and misses
and Great counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luiz is trying to stand back up but Great is controlling him
Great is breathing heavily.
Luiz is trying to maintain the position but Great is very close to passing his half guard.
Great is working for a submission of some sort.
Luiz wants to control but Great is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Great passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Luiz!
Luiz is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Great throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Luiz because Great loaded up on that one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luiz holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Great tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Luiz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Great misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Great prevents Luiz from getting the reversal.

Great throws some wild stikes that Luiz manages to avoid easily.
Luiz wants to control but Great is having none of it.
Great working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Luiz looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Great! Submission of the night perhaps?
