Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Persson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Batur Ozgt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Persson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Batur Ozgt! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Persson tries to clinch up. Ozgt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Persson sprawls well. Persson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ozgt gets slowly back to his feet. Ozgt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Persson did well to prevent Ozgt getting side control. Ozgt throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Persson pushes Ozgt off looking to stand but Ozgt dives back in and keeps control.
Ozgt wants to free his trapped foot but Persson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ozgt in particular looking to stall. Persson is looking to escape. Ozgt trying to control from half guard but Persson is working away. Persson is looking to escape. Ozgt sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick misses from Persson.

Persson has his feet on Ozgt's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Persson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ozgt paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ozgt tries for a takedown but Persson circles away easily and Persson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ozgt's guard. Persson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Persson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Persson postures up and lands a big shot to Ozgt's brow. Ozgt wants to get back to his feet but Persson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ozgt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Persson wants to control from the top but Ozgt keeps moving. Ozgt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Persson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ozgt wants to get back to his feet but Persson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Persson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ozgt backs up against the cage.
Ozgt circles away from the clinch attempt and Ozgt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ozgt scoring with strikes to the body and head. Persson is trying to stand up here but Ozgt is controlling him well. Ozgt seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Batur Ozgt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Persson leaves Ozgt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jonny Persson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Persson with a poor takedown and Ozgt counters with a single leg into guard. Persson didn't expect that. Ozgt working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Persson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ozgt is controlling him. Ozgt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ozgt trying to control the position from guard on top but Persson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ozgt is looking to advance position but Persson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ozgt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ozgt can do anything to dispel that myth.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Persson wants to control the pace but Ozgt is squirming around nicely. Persson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ozgt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Persson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ozgt's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Persson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Persson is thwarting Ozgt's attempts to control the position. Persson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ozgt tries to kick Persson off but Persson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Batur Ozgt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Persson decides to stand up. Ozgt tries for a takedown but Persson circles away easily and Persson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Batur Ozgt. I've got Ozgt winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
