Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Aux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Aux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Shepard!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aux tries to close the distance and clinch but Shepard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shepard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Aux napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shepard has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Aux tries to clinch up but Shepard circles away and keeps his distance.
Shepard drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shepard won't allow Aux to sweep him here.
Aux might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Aux keeping moving, preventing Shepard from controlling successfully.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Shepard decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Aux, up you get!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Aux has closed the distance and engaged Shepard in a clinch.

Aux throws a nice outside leg kick.
Shepard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Aux counters with a series of strikes that sends Shepard to the canvas! Aux follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
