Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Erghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guerra has chosen The Sound Of Thruth - As I Lay Dying as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pierre Erghan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Guerra! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guerra keeps the fight on the outside. Erghan moves in looking to clinch but Guerra pushes him off. Erghan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guerra pinned against the cage. Guerra gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Guerra gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Guerra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Erghan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guerra, pushing him back against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Erghan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Guerra's brow. Guerra working Erghan over with knees to the body. Erghan working hard to break the clinch. Erghan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Guerra is defending well for now. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Guerra wants the takedown. Erghan is fighting it off but Guerra persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Erghan's guard against the cage. Guerra throwing strikes but missing. Guerra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Erghan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guerra has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Erghan is proving hard to escape from. Erghan is trying to control the position but Guerra postures up. Guerra is looking to work some ground and pound but Erghan has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erghan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Guerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Erghan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Guerra has a takedown stuffed. Guerra throws a head kick but Erghan moves out of range.
Erghan tries to clinch and Guerra counters by moving into the clinch. Erghan working hard to break the clinch. Erghan is trying to stall.
Guerra letting Erghan take a breather here. Guerra on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Erghan closes the distance looking to clinch and Guerra counters with a nice double leg into guard. Guerra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Guerra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Erghan has a closed guard, preventing Guerra from standing up. Guerra looks gassed! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guerra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Erghan keeping full guard, as Guerra tries to pass. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Erghan is looking for a triangle here but Guerra uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Erghan tries to clinch up so Guerra counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Erghan is trying to keep Guerra in close.

The fighters roll with the hold and Erghan manages to kick Guerra off! Guerra jumps back into Erghan's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Erghan tries to clinch but Guerra moves away and Guerra counters with a series of strikes. Erghan will be more careful next time no doubt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Guerra dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Erghan tries to clinch and Guerra counters with a single leg into guard. Erghan didn't expect that. Erghan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Guerra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Guerra wants to control from the top but Erghan keeps moving. Erghan controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guerra would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Erghan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Guerra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Erghan is keeping the position for now. Erghan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Erghan stops Guerra from standing up. Erghan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Erghan passes easily into side control. Nice work. Guerra wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Erghan working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Erghan is really struggling to control Guerra but he's trying to hold on to the position. Guerra is fighting to break Erghan's control of his arms but Erghan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Guerra trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Erghan tries to clinch but Guerra moves away and Guerra decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Erghan's guard. Erghan controls Guerra momentarily but Guerra frees himself. Guerra advances to half guard. Erghan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Guerra working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Erghan holds on and takes a little breather.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Guerra looking to pass the guard. Erghan controls Guerra momentarily but Guerra frees himself. Guerra throwing strikes but missing. Guerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Erghan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Guerra closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Guerra tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Diego Guerra comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Guerra has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
