Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Mykolaiv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Aux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aux has chosen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44E-lW3aYhM as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ben Aux has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Viktor Mykolaiv!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Aux!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mykolaiv misses with the combination.
Aux shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mykolaiv as he jumps to the side.
Aux throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mykolaiv was covering up waiting for the punch and Aux finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mykolaiv looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Aux must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Aux throwing shots but Mykolaiv is blocking nicely.

Aux seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mykolaiv does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Aux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mykolaiv. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Aux fails with a takedown attempt.
Mykolaiv throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aux.
Aux fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mykolaiv avoids it really well and circles away.
Viktor Mykolaiv has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Aux.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aux shoots in and drives through. Mykolaiv sprawls well.

Mykolaiv steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Aux.
Aux changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mykolaiv tries to avoid it but Aux manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mykolaiv to the ground. Mykolaiv escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Mykolaiv will probably get the nod.

Nice combo by Mykolaiv! Oh, that's hurt him - Aux falls to the canvas and Mykolaiv follows him into side control.

It looks like Ben Aux has been cut.
Mykolaiv is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aux has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mykolaiv tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mykolaiv goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Aux has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mykolaiv but great work by Aux.

Mykolaiv has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Aux escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Aux!
Mykolaiv parries the strikes from Aux easily there. Aux is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mykolaiv to escape.

Aux is keen to just control but Mykolaiv is a slippery customer.
Aux is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mykolaiv doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aux.
Aux is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mykolaiv is just riding it out for now. Aux eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Aux is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mykolaiv fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Mykolaiv counters with a series of strikes that sends Aux to the canvas! Mykolaiv follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Mykolaiv is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mykolaiv is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Aux is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Aux has escaped and now he's on top!
Aux missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Aux has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Mykolaiv to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Aux is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mykolaiv pulls down on the head and he's put Aux to sleep! This one is all over!
