Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tur Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Williams! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Williams fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.
Williams feints and as Cote raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cote is looking to stand up but Williams isn't so interested in that idea. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Williams pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cote is keeping the position for now. Williams looks gassed! Cote controlling Williams's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams prevents Cote from getting back to his feet. Williams wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cote throws a left that rocks Williams and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Cote dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Williams regain composure!
Williams is rocked! Cote landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Williams is still in real trouble! Can Cote finish him? Cote moves into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote working Williams over with strikes here. Cote content just to control the position here. Cote's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Williams seems to have recovered his senses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams tries to hold on but Cote pushes him away. Cote looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Cote controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Cote has a good base and remains in mount. Cote is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Williams has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cote prevents Williams from getting the reversal. Williams is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Williams tries to get back to half guard but can't. Williams manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Williams tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Williams is trying to maintain the position but Cote is very close to passing his half guard. Williams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Williams is looking for a triangle but Cote pushes his legs off easily.
Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Williams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cote is controlling him. Williams had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cote is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Williams Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cote's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tur Cote dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Cote tries to break the clinch but Williams is controlling the position. Williams can't break the clinch.
Cote is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Williams lands a head kick!
Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cote swivels and escapes. Cote stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Williams lands with a nice body kick. Tur Cote is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Williams shoots in but Cote avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tur Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Williams. Cote throws a front kick aimed at Williams's knee but Williams avoids it well. Williams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams cracks Cote with a big right hand but Cote just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cote has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Williams but great work by Cote. Cote taking a breather here. Williams manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Cote missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cote decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote jabs at Williams's body. Williams drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Williams drives through and clinches with Cote against the cage.

Williams trying to control but Cote is working from the bottom. Williams content to stall in guard here. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cote controlling Williams's posture. Cote wriggles free and stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cote gets to his feet - Williams follows without any prompting. Cote fails with the takedown and Williams counters with a straight right hand. Williams with a lazy takedown attempt and Cote holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Williams breaks the clinch.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.
Williams throws a head kick that misses. Cote throws a lazy head kick and Williams moves into the clinch. Williams looking to slow down the pace here. Williams misses with the head strike.
Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams misses with a wild body shot. Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cote pinned against the cage. Cote gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cote throws a leg kick and Williams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Cote avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cote slips a jab and a cross from Williams.
Williams tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range. Williams slips a jab from Cote. Williams has a takedown stuffed. Williams lands a head kick!
Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cote looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cote is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but David Williams will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Oooh a lovely combination from Cote sends Williams down but not out. Cote dives into side control looking to finish. Cote postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cote tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Williams is letting Cote control him for a moment. Williams bucks up and tries to throw Cote off but instead Cote has got his back! Cote controls the action. Williams manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cote's guard. Nice work there by Williams.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cote's head. Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cote swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cote managing to control the position. Cote pushes Williams off and scrambles back to his feet.
Williams keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cote swivels and escapes. Williams throws a head kick but Cote moves out of range.

Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cote pinned against the cage. Cote gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cote drives through with a takedown into guard. Williams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Williams looking to control.
Tur Cote overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cote looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote stands up from Williams's guard - Cote perhaps looking for a knockout. Williams avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams tries for a takedown but Cote circles away easily and Cote counters with an inside leg kick. Tur Cote has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Williams. Williams shoots and misses and Cote counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that. Cote stands up. Cote drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams looking for a sweep. Not yet Williams, not yet. Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cote gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Excellent takedown into side control there by Cote. Cote stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cote moves into the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams stalling in the clinch but Cote improves position. Williams wants to break the clinch but can't.
