Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juho Heinonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov shoots in looking for a takedown. Heinonen tries to sprawl out of it but Petrov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Heinonen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Heinonen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Heinonen throws a strike but Petrov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Petrov passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Petrov tries to move into full mount but can't pass Heinonen's legs.
Petrov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petrov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petrov has hold of Heinonen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Heinonen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Petrov cranks the arm and Heinonen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Heinonen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ivan Petrov!
