Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gegard Mousasi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gegard Mousasi ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Kane! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mousasi plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Michael Kane has been cut. Mousasi throws a head kick that misses. Mousasi misses with a wild combination.
Crunch! Mousasi slams his shin into Kane's torso. Mousasi tries a head kick but it misses.
Kane takes a swing at Mousasi 's ribcage but misses. Mousasi shoots in for a double leg but Kane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mousasi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kane. Kane misses the jab. Mousasi throws a head kick that misses. Kane shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Well, if Kane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mousasi flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mousasi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kane pulls his head out easily. Mousasi won't allow Kane to pass to mount. Mousasi wants to control but Kane is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Kane seems content to control. Mousasi is pressing down on Kane's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mousasi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kane defends well. Mousasi is breathing heavily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kane's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kane's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mousasi working for a triangle but Kane defends it easily.
Kane is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Let's hope that Kane has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mousasi 's head. Mousasi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kane defends it easily. Kane scoring with some ground and pound. Mousasi is looking for a triangle but Kane pushes his legs off easily.
Mousasi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mousasi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kane is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kane lands a couple of elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mousasi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kane defends it easily. Kane makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kane sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kane scoring with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gegard Mousasi will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Michael Kane's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mousasi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kane. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kane. Mousasi bucks up and tries to throw Kane off but instead Kane has got his back! Kane biding his time, controlling Mousasi . Mousasi trying to control the hands but Kane breaks the grip. Kane lands a shot to the body. Mousasi is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Mousasi turns into Kane and is now in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kane is trying to control the position but Mousasi postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane wants to sweep but no luck. Mousasi thows a big elbow that misses. Mousasi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kane is proving hard to escape from. Mousasi preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mousasi doesn't manage to clinch there - Kane circles away.
Kane looks to throw the jab but Mousasi is out of range. Mousasi slaps away a takedown attempt from Kane, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mousasi throws a head kick that Kane semi-blocks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kane tries to land a body kick and Mousasi counters with a head kick. That will keep Kane thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Mousasi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mousasi 's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Mousasi duly obliges. Kane takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Mousasi throws a head kick that Kane semi-blocks.
Mousasi throws a nice looking combination but Kane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mousasi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Mousasi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Mousasi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mousasi wants it to stay on the feet. A combination from Mousasi does no damage. Kane swats away the attempt to clinch by Mousasi . Kane scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane drops an elbow to the side of Mousasi 's head. Mousasi is trying to control but can't.
Kane seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mousasi looking for submissions off his back. Kane decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Mousasi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Mousasi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kane gets the takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mousasi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Mousasi is looking to escape. Mousasi is looking for a sweep. Kane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mousasi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kane pulls his head out easily. Kane is controlling the pace.
Kane gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Mousasi misses with a takedown and Kane counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kane can do anything to dispel that myth. Kane has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mousasi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kane. Mousasi tries for a kimura but Kane is defending well. Kane can't do much from the bottom here.

He has the arm isolated but Kane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mousasi misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Mousasi tries to move to mount but Kane blocks the move with his legs. Kane sneaks back into half guard. Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mousasi . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kane is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Michael Kane has got the better of the ground game so far. Kane wants to get back to full guard but Mousasi has passed into side control. Kane regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane wants to get back to full guard but Mousasi has mounted him! Mousasi looking to ground and pound but Kane is blocking nicely. Kane has given up his back here.
Kane trying to control the action but Mousasi just sinks the hooks in. Kane has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Mousasi sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Kane taps out!
