The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kris Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Savage.
Savage stuffs the takedown.
Savage throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease.
Savage fails with the takedown.
James shoots and misses
and Savage decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in James's guard.

Savage thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
