Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matty P (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen All In The Family as his entrance music. Tony Thompson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
P looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
P fails in his attempt to clinch.
P fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
P keeps the fight on the outside.
P closes the distance and clinches up with Thompson, looking for a takedown. P pushes Thompson against the cage but Thompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matty P. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but P paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thompson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
P avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Horrible takedown by P or perhaps it was just good defense by Thompson which made him look bad.

Thompson is pressed up against the cage. P has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thompson down to the mat. Thompson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tony Thompson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and P counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thompson won't be happy with that.
The strikes coming from P are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
P sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Thompson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

P tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Thompson avoids it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thompson maintains plum control as P tries to back straight out! Thompson connects with one knee! Two knees! Three, four, five, six...seven unasnwered knees! P blocks the eight but eats the ninth - then collapses! Oh the brutality!
