Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Dubbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Easton! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dubbs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dubbs throws a big right hand that misses. Dubbs passes Easton's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dubbs trying to pass the guard but Easton defending well. Dubbs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dubbs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Easton defends it well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dubbs in particular looking to stall. Dubbs tries to pass the half guard into mount. Easton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dubbs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Easton keeps working. Dubbs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Dubbs is trying to control the action in half guard but Easton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Easton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dubbs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dubbs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Easton wants to clinch. Dubbs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Easton circles away. Easton tries to clinch but Dubbs moves out of range. Easton throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Dubbs is breathing heavily. Dubbs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Easton but Easton pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Easton throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Dubbs is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
