Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brad Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lazaro Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lazaro Perez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lazaro Perez! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stokes wants to clinch up but Perez keeps it at a distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stokes. Stokes shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stokes closes the distance and clinches up with Perez, looking for a takedown. Stokes pushes Perez against the cage but Perez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Stokes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Perez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Perez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Stokes wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Perez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Perez controlling his opponent. Stokes is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez controlling from mount. Stokes gets back to half guard. Perez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Perez escapes and gets back to his feet. Perez throws a push kick but Stokes slaps the foot to one side. Stokes wants to clinch. Stokes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Stokes is keen to just control but Perez is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stokes looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Perez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stokes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Perez is looking to control Stokes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Perez avoid being mounted? Perez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stokes scores with a couple of nice shots. Stokes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perez's head. Perez wants to control but Stokes is keeping busy and won't allow it. Perez wants to get back to his feet.
Stokes is looking to advance position but Perez won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Perez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stokes is breathing heavily. Perez trying to control the action but Stokes is working from the bottom. Perez is taking a breather. Stokes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Perez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez wants to stand but Stokes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Stokes is trying to stand back up but Perez is controlling him
Perez is looking for a kimura but Stokes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Perez to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Stokes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stokes tries for a takedown but Perez circles away easily and Perez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stokes won't be happy with that. Stokes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Perez asserts his dominance and retains side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lazaro Perez dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Stokes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Perez keeps the fight on the outside. Perez looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Stokes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Perez counters with a takedown into side control. Stokes is looking for a sweep. Stokes being controlled for a moment. Perez working the ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stokes taking punishment in the form of punches.
Stokes is looking to regain half guard here but Perez keeps moving and retains side control. Perez controlling the position. Stokes prevents Perez from moving into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Perez working away. Perez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stokes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Stokes wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stokes tries for a takedown but Perez circles away easily and Perez counters with a single leg into guard. Stokes didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez is in close to Stokes's body, working some short punches and elbows. Stokes is looking to stand up but Perez isn't so interested in that idea. Stokes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Perez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stokes is keeping the position for now. Stokes keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully. Stokes has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Perez doesn't defend quickly enough and Stokes has managed to lock this one up! Can Perez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Stokes on a fantastic submission victory.
