Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between JD Kom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Markus Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kom misses with a head kick.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kom was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Kom slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kom passes into side control.

Kom decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gracie to his feet.

Kom is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kom is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kom tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kom has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Kom keeps moving and retains side control.

Kom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kom has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that JD Kom will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kom cracks Gracie with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kom is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kom fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kom tries to control but Gracie wriggling away.

Gracie tries to reverse the position but Kom maintains control.
Gracie manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kom wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Kom is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kom pulls his head out easily.

Kom is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kom trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie misses with a takedown

and Kom counters by moving into the clinch.
Kom digs a right hand into Gracie's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gracie's gas tank.

Kom breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
JD Kom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kom circles away.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
JD Kom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Markus Gracie.
Gracie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kom!

Kom pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kom pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kom drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gracie pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kom swivels and escapes.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Kom saw that one coming.

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kom's guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kom manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Kom in his guard.

Kom gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kom feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kom advances to half guard.

Kom is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gracie is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
