Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yakai Ossini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Sorenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorenson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ossini.
Ossini throws a hook but Sorenson blocks it.

Sorenson moves out of range of the strikes.
Sorenson scores with a sloppy right hand. Ossini should have avoided that one.

Sorenson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ossini swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Sorenson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ossini is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Sorenson's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ossini feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ossini remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Ossini has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
