Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rua gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rua prevents it.
Jones managing to block the knees to the body from Rua.
Rua stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jones is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rua to the mat. Rua regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rua looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rua is proving hard to escape from.
Jones stays in close to Rua's body and controls the position.
Rua has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rua looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rua looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rua!
Rua advances to full mount.

Jones is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones looking to control but Rua passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rua escapes and gets back to his feet.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones scores a takedown into full mount!
Jones goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rua is on top in guard.
Rua controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rua postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rua wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rua stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jones looks to land a combination but Rua avoids it well.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Rua circles away.
Mario Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rua tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones tries to clinch but Rua moves out of range.
Rua's corner calls for a 1-2. Rua obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Rua fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Mario Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rua can pounce on him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua throws a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Rua.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rua tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rua to the ground. Rua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rua misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rua circles away from the clinch attempt.

A left lands for Rua.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rua tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rua to the ground. Rua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rua throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Rua - that will leave a mark!
Rua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jones blocks it with crossed arms.
Rua throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rua fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rua fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rua tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Rua dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rua thuds his shin into the meat of Jones's side.
Rua is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Rua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rua lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.
Rua lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jones takes a step back to recover.
Rua is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rua avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jones crunches a lovely knee into Rua's ribcage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones jumps into guard, dragging Rua to the mat.

Jones pushes Rua off and scrambles back to his feet.
Rua throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones works over Rua's head and body with a nice combination.

Jones forces Rua back against the cage and clinches.

Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones drops an elbow to the side of Rua's head.
Rua is rocked!
Rua tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Rua moves into full guard.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones controls Rua momentarily but Rua frees himself.
Rua controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones working a defensive guard but Rua manages to pass into side control anyway.
Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rua is controlling him well.
Jones is looking to reverse the position.

The strikes coming from Rua are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Rua controls the position.
Rua trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones defending against the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mike Jones will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Rua misses with a double jab
and Jones counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Rua gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Rua managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.
Jones has picked Rua up - he's going for a ride! Jones dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
It looks like Jones is going to stand back up.
Rua is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Let's hope that Rua has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Rua is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rua misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rua manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jones trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.

Rua manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Rua's attempts to control the action.

Jones is trying to escape the mount.
Rua looking for a guillotine from mount but Jones is having none of it.
Jones defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rua.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rua throwing strikes here but Jones is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Rua sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rua unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.
Mike Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rua looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Rua working for a submission but Jones is keeping him at bay.
Rua avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Rua tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Jones tries to improve his position but instead Rua has taken his back!
Rua biding his time, controlling Jones.
Jones trying to control the position but Rua manages to sink in the hooks.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rua trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Rua misses with punches from the back.
Jones is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rua gets his way!
Rua doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.
Jones wants to stand but Rua is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A solid body kick from Jones.
And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
