Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iokua Mikala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesly Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Iokua Mikala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wesly Correa! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Correa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mikala.
Mikala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Correa's waist but Correa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mikala off to one side. Correa misses with a double jab.
Mikala moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Mikala fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Correa sprawls well initially but Mikala persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mikala wants to work for an arm triangle but Correa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mikala is working for a kimura but Correa is defending it quite comfortably.
Mikala works his way into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Correa keeping his opponent close. Correa can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mikala is looking to take a break and control but Correa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Correa tries to bench press Mikala off him but Mikala keeps the position. Mikala wants to lay and pray for a moment but Correa keeps working. You can see the frustration on Correa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mikala tries for a kimura but Correa is defending well. Mikala throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mikala is working to tighten is grip on Correa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Correa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mikala is really squeezing tight and eventually Correa passes out! Mikala breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Iokua Mikala!
