Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blue Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blue Sr has chosen I Gotta Feeling as his entrance music. John Blue Sr has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Cowen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Cowen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Blue Sr! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cowen looks to land a combination. Blue Sr sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Cowen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Blue Sr tries to keep at a distance but Cowen has taken the fight into the clinch. Cowen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Cowen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blue Sr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Blue Sr prevents the takedown attempt.
Cowen controlling the action here for a moment.
Cowen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Blue Srs head. Cowen tries for a takedown but Blue Sr manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Cowen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cowen stalling in the clinch but Blue Sr improves position. Blue Sr trying to land knees to the body.
Cowen keeps control of Blue Sr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cowen goes for a takedown attempt but Blue Sr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Blue Sr misses the jab. Cowen rushes Blue Sr and presses him up against the cage. Cowen looking for a takedown. Cowen can't get the takedown.
Blue Sr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Still in the clinch, Cowen scores with a nice short uppercut. Cowen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Blue Sr thows a left - swing and a miss! Blue Sr looks to land a combination but Cowen avoids it well. A jab from Blue Sr misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Cowen 's head but he takes it in his stride. Blue Sr stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Cowen takes one to the side of the head.
Jab, jab by Cowen - just one landing. Cowen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blue Sr wants to get back to his feet but Cowen drags him back down. Blue Sr is trying to improve his position. Blue Sr is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Cowen has knee on belly and moves into mount. Blue Sr wants to control but Cowen is having none of it. Cowen wants to control the pace but Blue Sr is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blue Sr tries to buck Cowen off but he can't manage it. Cowen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cowen moves to the back. Blue Sr looks gassed! Cowen connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Blue Sr to escape the position.
Cowen patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Blue Sr is taking damage to the body and head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Blue Sr wants to get back to his feet. Cowen patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Cowen lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Blue Sr hold on?!
Blue Sr defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Cowen's arms. Cowen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cowen patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cowen has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Blue Sr. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Blue Sr wants to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cowen is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Blue Sr taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Cowen.
