Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Cabrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Kingston! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kingston. Alex Cabrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cabrera scores with a kick to the body.
Cabrera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cabrera tries to stand and escape but Kingston is controlling the position. Kingston is defending against the submission attempts here by Cabrera.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kingston is trying to stand.

Kingston wants to control but Cabrera is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabrera is looking to take a break and control but Kingston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kingston sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Kingston looks gassed! Cabrera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kingston to the mat! Kingston manages to get full guard. Kingston has his foot on Cabrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cabrera works his way back into a safe position though. Cabrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kingston swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kingston has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cabrera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cabrera wants to control from the top but Kingston keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabrera controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Cabrera stands up and waves to Kingston to follow him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cabrera throws a series of strikes that have Kingston backpedaling.
Cabrera throws a head kick that half lands.
Kingston moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kingston gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cabrera counters with a nice body kick. Cabrera throws a leg kick which misses Kingston's front leg but catches the back leg as Kingston tries to avoid it. Nice shot lands for Cabrera.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabrera gets a clinch. Cabrera has Kingston pushed against the cage. Cabrera on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Kingston tries for a takedown but Cabrera manages to get underhooks.
Alex Cabrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Kingston. Cabrera lands a good knee to the midsection. Kingston won't want to take too many of those. Cabrera gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kingston trying to keep a closed guard but Cabrera is proving a slippery customer.
Kingston working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cabrera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kingston is tightening it up a little... Cabrera has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Cabrera reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Cabrera taps out! nice BJJ there by Kingston!
