PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between George Rosenblat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Scott's choice of entrance music: We Are One - 12 Stones. Jason Scott will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Rosenblat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Scott!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Scott drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Scott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rosenblat knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rosenblat bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Scott is looking to clinch but Rosenblat is avoiding it.

Scott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Scott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Scott is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rosenblat is surviving well by controlling Scott's body position as best he can.
Rosenblat is looking to improve his position but Scott isn't that keen on the idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rosenblat is squirming around, avoiding Scott's attempts to control the action.
Rosenblat is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Scott is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rosenblat has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rosenblat!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rosenblat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rosenblat's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rosenblat won't allow Scott to get back to his feet.
Rosenblat postures up and lands a big shot to Scott's brow.
Rosenblat working some strikes from top position.
Scott looks gassed!
Rosenblat is pushing down on Scott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scott is fighting to maintain full guard but Rosenblat has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rosenblat stops Scott from getting back to his feet.

Rosenblat gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Scott fails with an attempt to clinch.

Rosenblat has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rosenblat drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Scott gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Rosenblat's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Scott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rosenblat throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Scott has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Rosenblat tries for a takedown but Scott manages to get underhooks.
Scott is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Scott lands a good knee to the midsection. Rosenblat won't want to take too many of those.
Rosenblat drops down looking for an ankle pick but Scott pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Rosenblat. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Scott scoring well with a low kick there.
Rosenblat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Scott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rosenblat is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Scott is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rosenblat looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Scott drops back looking for a leg! Rosenblat is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rosenblat manages to kick Scott off! Scott jumps back into Rosenblat's guard.
Rosenblat keeping full guard, as Scott tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Scott dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rosenblat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Scott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Scott has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rosenblat is proving hard to escape from.
Rosenblat tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rosenblat keeping full guard, as Scott tries to pass.
Scott wants to stand but Rosenblat is controlling his posture from full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rosenblat is on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Scott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rosenblat is aware though and is defending well.
Rosenblat slips nicely into half guard.
Rosenblat is taking a breather. Scott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.
Rosenblat is nestled in close to Scott, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Scott is not content to let Rosenblat control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rosenblat content to control rather than advance.
Rosenblat stops Scott from getting back to his feet.

Rosenblat is looking for a kimura here.
Scott blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rosenblat.
Scott tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Scott is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rosenblat pulls his head out easily.

Rosenblat decides to stand and escape the position.

Scott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rosenblat napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Scott scoring with punches and elbows.

Scott decides to stand back up. Scott steps back and let's Rosenblat get back to his feet.
Good leg kick by Scott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Rosenblat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Scott counters with a three punch combo that has Rosenblat backing up. Rosenblat nods at Scott to acknowledge the strikes.
Scott shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rosenblat defends it nicely.
Rosenblat takes a head kick and keeps coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rosenblat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Scott avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rosenblat.
Jason Scott has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rosenblat is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rosenblat connects with a nice short shot to Scott's temple.

Scott looking for submissions off his back.
Rosenblat is controlling the pace.
Scott is trying is best to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jason Scott will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Rosenblat feints and as Scott raises his hands in defense, Rosenblat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Scott is looking to sinch up a triangle. Rosenblat throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Scott's body to avoid the submission. Scott has instead reached around Rosenblat's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Scott arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jason Scott!
