Jefferson's entrance music is Know your enemy. A fine choice. Gordy Jefferson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Locke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gordy Jefferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John Locke!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke tries to clinch up.

Jefferson clinches up with Locke and pushes him back against the cage.

It looks like Gordy Jefferson has been cut.
Jefferson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Locke manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Locke's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Locke tries a head kick but it misses.
Locke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jefferson throws a series of strikes that have Locke backpedaling.
Locke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Jefferson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Jefferson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jefferson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Locke moves into the clinch.
Jefferson tries to break free but Locke pushes him back against the cage.
Locke throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jefferson blocks it with crossed arms.
Jefferson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Locke.
Locke has Jefferson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jefferson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Locke throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jefferson blocks it with crossed arms.
Jefferson jumps guard but Locke stands there with Jefferson around his waist. Jefferson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Locke tries to land a knee to the head but Jefferson blocks with his arms.

Locke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Locke will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jefferson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jefferson feints and as Locke raises his hands in defense, Jefferson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jefferson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jefferson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jefferson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Jefferson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Locke to the mat! Locke manages to get full guard.

Jefferson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jefferson swats away the attempt to clinch by Locke.
John Locke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jefferson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Locke backs up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Locke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jefferson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jefferson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Locke has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jefferson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jefferson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Locke is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jefferson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
