The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wehmeyer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wehmeyer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Wehmeyer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wehmeyer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Wehmeyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Arthur Wehmeyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wehmeyer looks to land a combination but McGill avoids it well.
Wehmeyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGill circles away quickly and effectively.

McGill with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wehmeyer to score with a decent uppercut.

McGill fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wehmeyer sprawls well initially but McGill persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McGill can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wehmeyer is looking to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGill is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Wehmeyer is in real trouble.
McGill struggling to keep hold of the position.
McGill is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wehmeyer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McGill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wehmeyer.

McGill takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

McGill is looking to advance position but Wehmeyer won't allow it.

McGill looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wehmeyer is not content to let McGill control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McGill seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
McGill's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Barry McGill just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
McGill takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wehmeyer pushes McGill away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McGill gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
McGill content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Wehmeyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wehmeyer wants to get back to his feet but McGill drags him back down.
