Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ric Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flair comes to the cage accompanied by Ric Flair Intro. Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Grand Magus - Hammer of the North. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Flair, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Smith works over Flair's head and body with a nice combination.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Flair on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Smith throws a series of punches but Flair avoids them all with ease.
Flair uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

Flair ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Flair takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Flair is breathing heavily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smith, as that shot connected.
Flair uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Flair had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Smith lands a big right hand that sends Flair crashing to the mat! Smith stays standing though and waves Flair back to his feet!

Flair is rocked!
Flair takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Flair is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith is looking to clinch but Flair is avoiding it.
Flair seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Flair on that attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Flair doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Smith drops Flair with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Flair looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Peter Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flair takes one to the side of the head.
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Flair takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Smith fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Flair looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Flair takes one on the button.

Smith drops Flair with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Flair! Smith dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
