Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Borden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Borden!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Borden, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Borden against the cage but Borden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Borden.
Borden is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Johnson's shoulder. That is not cool.
Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Borden's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borden has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson misses with a takedown

and Borden decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
Borden lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Borden decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson tries to clinch up

and Borden counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Borden content to control rather than advance.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Borden pulls his head out easily.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Borden manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Borden in his guard.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Borden is aware though and is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Borden is thwarting Johnson's attempts to control the position.

Borden has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Johnson's body.

Robert Borden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Borden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
