The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels scores with a decent looking hook.
Michaels misses with an uppercut. McCoullegham saw that one coming.
Michaels fails to land with a series of punches.
Michaels throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCoullegham uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Michaels.
McCoullegham looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Michaels pushes McCoullegham off looking to stand but McCoullegham dives back in and keeps control.
Michaels gets full guard.
Michaels is looking to stand up but McCoullegham isn't so interested in that idea.

McCoullegham drops back looking for a leg! Michaels is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Michaels manages to kick McCoullegham off! McCoullegham jumps back into Michaels's guard.
Michaels is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Michaels is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Michaels has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCoullegham wants to control from the top but Michaels keeps moving.
McCoullegham thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Michaels on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Michaels tries to get out of the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A slow jab from Michaels misses its intended target.
Brett Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Michaels takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Michaels misses with an uppercut.
Michaels scores with a jab to the body.
McCoullegham misses with a takedown attempt - Michaels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McCoullegham tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Michaels swivels and escapes.
McCoullegham looks gassed!
McCoullegham on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Michaels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCoullegham circles away quickly and effectively.
Michaels missing with a left hand there. McCoullegham was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McCoullegham takes one to the side of the head.

Michaels connects with a nice looking jab.
Michaels drops McCoullegham with a straight right hand, right on the button! Michaels follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
