PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marty Friedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Acevedes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acevedes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Slayed kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marty Friedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Acevedes!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friedman keeps Acevedes at a distance using the push kick.
Friedman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A head kick misses from Friedman.
Friedman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Acevedes tries to avoid it but Friedman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Acevedes to the ground. Acevedes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Friedman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
No luck for Friedman with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marty Friedman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Friedman shoots in for a takedown but Acevedes shows good takedown defense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Let's hope that Acevedes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
