The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byford drops Punch Drunk with a left and a right! Oh, Punch Drunk is hurt - Byford dives into side control looking to finish!
Punch Drunk is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punch Drunk can't do much from the bottom here.
Byford cracks Punch Drunk with a big right hand but Punch Drunk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Byford is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byford postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Byford creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Punch Drunk is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Punch Drunk moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Byford cracks Punch Drunk with a solid left hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Byford closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Punch Drunk did well to prevent Byford getting side control.
Punch Drunk is looking to control Byford's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Punch Drunk avoid being mounted?

Punch Drunk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Byford defends it easily.
Byford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Punch Drunk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Punch Drunk has his hands on Byford's head, controlling the position.
Byford makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Byford lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Byford lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Byford wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Punch Drunk's closed guard. He's half up but Punch Drunk has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Punch Drunk pivots and extends the arm, Byford falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Punch Drunk! Well done that man!
