Noffsinger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Flash Gordon. Savage is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Beauty and the Beat. 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Savage! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Noffsinger circles away quickly and effectively. Noffsinger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Savage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Noffsinger scores a takedown into full mount! Noffsinger looking to ground and pound but Savage is blocking nicely. Noffsinger controlling from the full mount. Savage wants to hold on but Noffsinger pushes him away. Savage blocking the ground and pound. Noffsinger looking to finish with strikes here!
Noffsinger lands a nice shot to the head. Savage tries to lock up and control but Noffsinger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Noffsinger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Savage avoids a series of strikes thrown by Noffsinger.
Savage is squirming around, avoiding Noffsinger's attempts to control the action. Noffsinger is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage tries to hold on but Noffsinger pushes him away. Noffsinger trying to control but he's not successful this time. Noffsinger avoids the attempt from Savage to control. Savage is working to get back to half guard.
Noffsinger lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Savage tries to reverse the position but Noffsinger maintains control. Noffsinger thowing shots but they're missing. Noffsinger throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Savage because Noffsinger loaded up on that one. Noffsinger avoids the attempt from Savage to control. Savage is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Noffsinger lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Savage can't escape the position.
Savage wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Noffsinger.

Noffsinger takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Noffsinger has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Noffsinger unloads with some shots from mount but Savage bucks and avoids them well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage tries to get back to half guard but can't. Noffsinger sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Noffsinger trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savage tries to lock up and control but Noffsinger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Savage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Noffsinger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Savage might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Noffsinger kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Noffsinger throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Savage can do anything to dispel that myth. Noffsinger avoids the attempt from Savage to control. Noffsinger landing shots from mount. Savage tries to lock up and control but Noffsinger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Noffsinger unloading with bombs! Noffsinger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Savage is looking to escape. Savage working to try and regain half guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Noffsinger unloads with some shots from mount but Savage bucks and avoids them well.
Noffsinger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Savage is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Noffsinger dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Noffsinger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Savage's half guard. Noffsinger prevents Savage from improving his position. Noffsinger tries to pass to full mount but Savage defends it. Savage is trying to get back to full guard. Savage is not content to let Noffsinger control the position. Noffsinger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noffsinger wants to control but Savage is keeping him busy.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Savage digs a good hook to Noffsinger's body.
Savage throws a jab but it's blocked by Noffsinger. Noffsinger fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Noffsinger. Savage does a little dance to reset his feet. Noffsinger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Noffsinger takes one on the button. Noffsinger avoids the body shot from Savage.
Noffsinger has Savage up against the cage in a clinch.
Savage has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Savage avoids the elbow strike from Noffsinger, against the cage.
Savage is pressed up against the cage. Noffsinger has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Savage down to the mat. Savage avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. William Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Savage just misses with a punch to the body.
Savage throws a nice looking combination but Noffsinger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Savage throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Savage punishes Noffsinger's body with a nice straight punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Savage looks to land a combination but Noffsinger avoids it well. Noffsinger tries to clinch there but Savage circles away.
Savage lands a left and a right that send Noffsinger crashing to the mat, dazed. Savage thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Noffsinger is rocked! William Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Savage cracks Noffsinger with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Noffsinger falls to his knees and Savage doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
