Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quick comes to the cage accompanied by stereoside - my ife. Nick Quick has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fernandes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fernandes lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nick Quick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Quick, right into the meat.
Fernandes has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Quick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fernandes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Quick - the referee stops the clock and Fernandes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Quick. Fernandes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Nice takedown defense from Quick. No joy for Fernandes on that attempt.
Fernandes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
