Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emanuel Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce McGoose!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz dives in and grabs McGoose's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGoose pushes down on Diaz's head and hops out.
Diaz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McGoose swinging wildly here.
Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGoose.
Bruce McGoose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emanuel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGoose tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGoose to the ground. McGoose escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGoose looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diaz dives in and grabs McGoose's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGoose pushes down on Diaz's head and hops out.

McGoose misses with a looping left.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Diaz.
McGoose tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.
McGoose struggling a bit here.
Diaz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
McGoose is trying to control Diaz's posture but Diaz avoids it.

Diaz goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, McGoose rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Diaz's guard! Nice work there by McGoose!
McGoose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diaz wants to sweep here but McGoose controlling him for the moment.
McGoose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McGoose is posturing up here but Diaz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McGoose tries to roll out but it's too tight and McGoose has to tap! Slick submission there by Diaz!
