Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bennyilmari Haitarila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Dos Alva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bennyilmari Haitarila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Alva works over Haitarila's head and body with a nice combination.
Haitarila tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dos Alva throws a hook but Haitarila blocks it.
Dos Alva staying out of range there.
Dos Alva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Haitarila is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Haitarila on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Haitarila tries to get out of the position.

Dos Alva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Haitarila looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Haitarila looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Haitarila!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dos Alva takes a swing at Haitarila's ribcage but misses.
Haitarila drops Dos Alva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dos Alva looks back up at him and smiles so Haitarila waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Murilo Dos Alva has been cut.

Dos Alva misses with an uppercut. Haitarila saw that one coming.
A left and a right from Dos Alva both land. Nice combination.

Haitarila lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Haitarila dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dos Alva. That did some damage!

Murilo Dos Alva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haitarila misses with a telegraphed body shot
so Dos Alva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Haitarila is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Haitarila wants to stand but Dos Alva has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Haitarila is thwarting Dos Alva's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Dos Alva shoots in looking for a takedown. Haitarila tries to sprawl out of it but Dos Alva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Haitarila manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Horrible takedown by Dos Alva or perhaps it was just good defense by Haitarila which made him look bad.
Haitarila throws an overhand right that lands on Dos Alva's shoulder, as Dos Alva tries to avoid the shot.

and Haitarila counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Haitarila lands a left and a right that send Dos Alva crashing to the mat, dazed. Haitarila thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Haitarila rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dos Alva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dos Alva thuds his right hand into Haitarila's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Dos Alva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dos Alva's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Haitarila displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dos Alva.
Bennyilmari Haitarila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Dos Alva.

A head kick misses from Haitarila.
Dos Alva gets the takedown into side control.
Dos Alva wants to take a breather but Haitarila manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Dos Alva.

Dos Alva controls Haitarila momentarily but Haitarila frees himself.

Dos Alva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dos Alva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Haitarila gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Haitarila would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Haitarila is stalling in the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Haitarila decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dos Alva, up you get!
Haitarila is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dos Alva can do to turn this around?
Dos Alva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dos Alva maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Haitarila could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dos Alva has cracked it and Haitarila is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dos Alva!
