Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josef Kempton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Atrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josef Kempton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josef Kempton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Atrell! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atrell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Atrell scores with a kick to the body.
Atrell rushes Kempton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nice elbow from Atrell. Kempton blocks the elbow strike.
Atrell pulls guard effortlessly. Atrell is pulling down on Kempton's head to control his posture. Atrell wants to sweep here but Kempton controlling him for the moment. Kempton drops back looking for a leg! Atrell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Atrell manages to kick Kempton off! Kempton jumps back into Atrell's guard. Atrell wants to get back to his feet but Kempton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kempton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kempton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Atrell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kempton has Atrell in his guard. Atrell is looking to stand up but Kempton won't let him. Kempton looking for a guillotine here but Atrell defends easily.
Kempton is looking for a triangle but Atrell pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kempton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Atrell is looking to stand up but Kempton won't let him. Kempton controls Atrell momentarily but Atrell frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Atrell gets in close and instigates a clinch. Atrell goes for a takedown attempt but Kempton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kempton throws out a loose jab but Atrell uses good head movement to avoid it. Atrell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Atrell trying to land knees to the body.
Atrell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Atrell uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kempton. Atrell has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kempton tries to pull guard but Atrell won't allow it.
Atrell misses with a knee to the head. Kempton fails to pull guard.
Atrell creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Kempton takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Josef Kempton has been cut. Kempton is fighting off a takedown attempt but Atrell is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kempton to the mat. Kempton regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Kempton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Atrell defends it easily. Atrell wants to stand but Kempton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kempton is trying to keep Atrell in close.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kempton throws a big shot that misses. Kempton misses with a hook. Kempton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Atrell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Josef Kempton's cut. That's time! Kempton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Atrell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kempton's calf. The fight moves into the clinch position. Atrell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Atrell explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Kempton stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Atrell. Kempton misses with an uppercut. Kempton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Atrell moves away. Atrell closes the distance and clinches. Atrell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Atrell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Atrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Paul Atrell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kempton misses the shot to the body. Atrell lands with an uppercut that bounces Kempton off the cage and back into rage. Atrell looks to throw the jab but Kempton is out of range. Atrell lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Kempton throws a hook but Atrell avoids it easily. Atrell gets a clinch. Atrell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Atrell defending well as Kempton loads up on a big left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kempton misses with a wild body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Atrell plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Atrell moves into range and clinches up with Kempton. Kempton tries to pull guard but Atrell won't allow it.

Kempton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Atrell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kempton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Atrell moves away. Kempton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Atrell looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Paul Atrell seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kempton tries to keep at a distance but Atrell has taken the fight into the clinch. Atrell has Kempton pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Atrell pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kempton tumbling to the mat - Atrell dives into Kempton's guard. Atrell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kempton's guard. Atrell tries to free his leg and advance position but Kempton is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kempton wants to sweep here but Atrell controlling him for the moment. Atrell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kempton is proving hard to escape from. Kempton is trying to keep Atrell in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kempton scores with a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atrell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Atrell throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kempton's head. Atrell rushes Kempton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Atrell has clasped his hands together around Kempton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Atrell tries to stand but Kempton is controlling his head. Kempton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Atrell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Atrell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Atrell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kempton as he avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kempton looks to score with a jab to the body but Atrell is just out of range. Kempton cracks Atrell with a good jab. Kempton misses the shot to the body. Atrell drives through and clinches with Kempton against the cage.
Atrell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kempton is trying to keep an underhook but Atrell manages to get the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kempton trying to control but Atrell postures up.
Kempton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Atrell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Atrell wants to control but Kempton is keeping him busy. Kempton regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kempton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Atrell lands with a slapping head kick. Atrell rushes Kempton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Atrell tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kempton avoids it. Atrell jumps into guard, dragging Kempton to the mat.
Atrell wants to stand up but Kempton is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kempton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Atrell wants to stand but Kempton is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atrell is pulling down on Kempton's head to control his posture. Kempton wants to pass the guard but Atrell is keeping the position. Atrell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Atrell tries to land a sweep but no joy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Atrell can do anything to dispel that myth. Atrell wants to stand and escape but Kempton is having none of it. Kempton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Atrell pulls Kempton in to control the position. Kempton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kempton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Atrell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Atrell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kempton is defending well for now. Kempton is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Atrell throws a knee to the head but misses.

Atrell pulls Kempton in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters roll with the hold and Atrell manages to kick Kempton off! Kempton jumps back into Atrell's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Atrell controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Atrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Atrell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
