Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remigiusz Osyra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Remigiusz Osyra! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson looks for a takedown but Osyra sprawls well. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Johnson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Osyra has a hand on Johnson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Johnson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Johnson unloads with some shots from mount but Osyra bucks and avoids them well.
Osyra manages to control the position for a moment. Poor strikes thrown by Johnson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson looking to control but Osyra is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Osyra tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Osyra can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson wants to control the pace but Osyra is squirming around nicely. Johnson looking to finish with strikes here!

Osyra gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson. Osyra can't get the takedown.

Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Osyra does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Johnson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Osyra has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Johnson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Johnson lands a shot to the head. Osyra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Osyra shoots and misses and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson. Osyra looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Johnson wants to control from the top but Osyra keeps moving. Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Osyra is retaining full guard. Osyra working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Johnson. Johnson throwing strikes from guard but Osyra blocks nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Osyra fails to land with a series of punches.

Johnson decides to stand up. Matt Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Osyra with a lazy takedown attempt and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Osyra fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Osyra is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Osyra avoid being mounted? Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Osyra sees it coming and defends easily. Osyra has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Osyra is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Osyra wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Osyra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson trying to control from half guard but Osyra is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson tries to clinch but Osyra moves out of range. Osyra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Osyra throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Johnson on the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Osyra leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Osyra tries to clinch up. Johnson shoots for a takedown but Osyra saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Osyra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Osyra scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though. Johnson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Osyra works over Johnson's head and body with a nice combination. Osyra wants to clinch. Osyra fails with the takedown. Matt Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Remigiusz Osyra.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Osyra closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but Osyra shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Johnson tries to stall but Osyra uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Osyra pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch. Johnson gets a trip takedown into half guard. Osyra is controlling Johnson's trapped leg to prevent Johnson from advancing to side control. Remigiusz Osyra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Osyra is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Remigiusz Osyra. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
