The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Michaels has hold of one of Abessera's legs. Abessera is fighting the takedown attempt but Michaels gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Michaels postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Michaels throws and elbow that misses. Abessera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Michaels's guard. Nice move by Abessera!

Michaels has his foot on Abessera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Abessera works his way back into a safe position though.

He's locked it up tight! Abessera's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Michaels picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
