Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juji Gatame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Pajestka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juji Gatame!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Pajestka!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatame is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pajestka scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gatame lands with a right hand.
Gatame clinches up with Pajestka and pushes him back against the cage.
Pajestka changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gatame fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Gatame moves into the clinch.
Pajestka takes a shot to the head.
Gatame managing to block the knees to the body from Pajestka.

A short body shot lands from Gatame as the two fighters clinch.
Gatame is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pajestka can't fight it off and eventually Gatame manages to take the fight to the floor. Pajestka looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gatame is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gatame drops back looking for a leg! Pajestka is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pajestka manages to kick Gatame off! Gatame jumps back into Pajestka's guard.

Gatame lands a couple of digs.
Gatame advances to half guard.
Gatame stalling away here and it's allowed Pajestka to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Gatame postures up in Pajestka's guard and throws a big left but Pajestka blocks it.
Pajestka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gatame controls the pace.

Gatame has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pajestka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gatame. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gatame works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Pajestka is staying active underneath Gatame, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gatame throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gatame connects with a nice short shot to Pajestka's temple.
Gatame seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gatame wants to control but Pajestka is keeping him busy.

Gatame is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pajestka is surviving well by controlling Gatame's body position as best he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gatame lands a big shot there that rocks Pajestka but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gatame bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pajestka's guard.

Gatame seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pajestka is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
