Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Tugnutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robbie Rock!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tugnutt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Rock feints and as Tugnutt raises his hands in defense, Rock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tugnutt pulls Rock in close to prevent any damage.
Tugnutt wants to stand and escape but Rock is having none of it.
Rock trying to control but Tugnutt is working from the bottom.
Rock is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rock missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rock working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Tugnutt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Tugnutt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Tugnutt wants to control but Rock is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Poor strikes thrown by Rock there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Tugnutt wants to control but Rock is having none of it.

Rock jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tugnutt is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tugnutt and Rock has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Rock stands up and we're back to a striking position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tugnutt looks to score with a jab to the body but Rock is just out of range.
Rock fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tugnutt on the side of the head.

Rock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tugnutt is trying to stand back up but Rock is controlling him

Rock thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tugnutt to regain full guard.
Tugnutt keeping moving, preventing Rock from controlling successfully.

Tugnutt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rock off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Rock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rock throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Tugnutt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Rock counters by clinching up.

Tugnutt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tugnutt misses with a series of wild punches.

Rock closes the distance and pushes Tugnutt back into the cage.
Tugnutt tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rock just stands there and leans against the cage.

Rock pulls guard effortlessly.
Rock not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tugnutt gets to his feet - Rock follows without any prompting.
Rock tries to close the distance and clinch but Tugnutt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Rock scores with a four punch combination!

Rock doesn't manage to clinch there - Tugnutt circles away.

Rock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tugnutt napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rock throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rock tries to stand but Tugnutt is controlling his head.
Rock misses with the ground and pound.

Tugnutt throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Tugnutt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tugnutt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rock's head.
Rock manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rock has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tugnutt's face.

Rock tries to control but Tugnutt wriggling away.
Tugnutt wants to hold on but Rock pushes him away.
Rock can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tugnutt is looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tugnutt is wriggling around trying to escape.

Tugnutt bucks up and throws Rock to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Rock misses with a head kick.
Rock scores with a jab. Tugnutt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

so Rock counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tugnutt pushes Rock off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Rock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Tugnutt throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Tugnutt plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Tugnutt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Tugnutt takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Ron Tugnutt has been cut.

Rock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tugnutt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rock looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Tugnutt is avoiding damage well.

Rock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Tugnutt is trying to control Rock's posture but Rock avoids it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rock cracks Tugnutt with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Rock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tugnutt keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rock throws a strike but Tugnutt avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tugnutt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tugnutt decides to stand back up. Tugnutt steps back and let's Rock get back to his feet.

Tugnutt has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Rock keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Rock closes the distance and pushes Tugnutt back into the cage.
Rock fails to pull guard.
Tugnutt works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rock is looking to break free of the clinch but Tugnutt has double underhooks.
Tugnutt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A right handed body shot lands from Rock.
Tugnutt has Rock pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rock manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rock jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tugnutt walks away with a smile on his face. Rock gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tugnutt.

Tugnutt moves into the clinch successfully.
A short uppercut from Tugnutt.
Rock wants a takedown.

Tugnutt breaks the clinch.

Tugnutt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Tugnutt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rock kicks off Tugnutt and gets to his feet.
Rock circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tugnutt blocks a head kick by Rock.

Rock gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rock works his way into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Robbie Rock.
Well Rock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
