Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Len Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raimo Vassari!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton avoids the body shot from Vassari.
Vassari fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Orton sprawls well initially but Vassari persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Orton wants to get back to full guard.
Orton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Vassari wants to pass the guard but Orton is defending well.
Vassari not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Vassari wants to pass to mount but Orton is defending the position.
Vassari looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Orton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vassari's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vassari's back!

I really don't envy Vassari right now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vassari breaks Orton's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Orton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Vassari throws and elbow that misses. Orton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vassari's guard. Nice move by Orton!
Vassari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vassari scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Orton doesn't seem bothered though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Vassari takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vassari feints and as Orton raises his hands in defense, Vassari changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vassari accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Orton is on top in guard.

Orton working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Orton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vassari is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vassari looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Orton has picked Vassari up and slammed him! Vassari can't keep hold of the triangle and Orton manages to pass to side control!

That was a close second round but I would say that Len Orton will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Orton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vassari throws a jab when Orton was well out of range.

Vassari is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Vassari has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Orton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
