Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruarc Bowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amir Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ruarc Bowell! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowell slips under a jab from Khan. Bowell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khan's waist but Khan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bowell off to one side. Khan misses the shot to the body. Khan throws a sloppy head kick and Bowell moves out of range easily. Khan is looking to slow Bowell down with leg kicks. Khan throws a shot from downtown. Bowell moves away and avoids it. Bowell looks for a takedown but Khan sprawls well. A good leg kick by Khan. Bowell looks gassed! Bowell closes the distance and clinches up with Khan, looking for a takedown. Bowell pushes Khan against the cage but Khan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Amir Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruarc Bowell. Khan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bowell is able to avoid easily. Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bowell shoots for a takedown but Khan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Khan throws a head kick that misses. Bowell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bowell checks a leg kick. Amir Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Khan throws a leg kick that misses. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bowell checks a leg kick. Khan throws a wild body kick that Bowell sees coming a mile off.

Bowell misses with a leg kick and Khan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bowell's knee momentarily. Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice body kick from Khan. Khan gets a clinch. Khan lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bowell looking for a takedown. Khan lands a knee to the head.

Khan crunches a lovely knee into Bowell's ribcage. Khan with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Khan looking to throw knees to the head but Bowell is blocking nicely.

Khan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bowell is defending well for now. Bowell is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Bowell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Khan just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Khan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Khan.
Khan throws a head kick but Bowell moves out of range.
Khan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bowell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Khan's guard. Khan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bowell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bowell trying to control the position from guard on top but Khan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Khan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bowell's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan wants to control from the top but Bowell keeps moving. Khan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bowell is looking for a triangle but Khan pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Bowell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bowell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bowell is looking to advance position but Khan won't allow it. Bowell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Khan defending well though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bowell. Khan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowell on the ground. The fighters are battling for position here. Khan manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Khan pushes Bowell off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Amir Khan dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bowell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Khan is trying to control Bowell's posture but Bowell avoids it. Bowell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bowell has hold of Khan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Khan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bowell cranks the arm and Khan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Khan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ruarc Bowell!
