Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fresenius James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jordan McDaniel! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDaniel tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center. McDaniel is looking to take this fight into the clinch. James scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jordan McDaniel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McDaniel tries to clinch but James moves out of range. McDaniel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. James is looking for a sweep. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McDaniel on the ground. McDaniel tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. McDaniel throws an elbow but James slips to the side and avoids it well. McDaniel in side control, throwing shots but James defends. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! James parries the strikes from McDaniel easily there. McDaniel is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable James to escape.
A bit of a lull in the action here. James can't do much from the bottom here. James is trying to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. James scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. McDaniel takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. McDaniel takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
James lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

McDaniel fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but James is out of range. A shot to de liver by James. Beautiful body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDaniel falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling James to counter with a crisp jab. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by James. James takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McDaniel drives through and clinches with James against the cage.
McDaniel is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. James breaks from the clinch.
McDaniel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. McDaniel doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
McDaniel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from James finds it's way round the side to connect with McDaniel's head. James throws a shot to the body.
McDaniel looks gassed! McDaniel shoots in but James avoids the takedown attempt easily. Fresenius James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan McDaniel. James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McDaniel's head. McDaniel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Ouch! a nice leg kick from McDaniel, right into the meat.

It looks like Jordan McDaniel has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A nice combination there by James.
McDaniel walks into a stiff left hand from James. James is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A nice combination there by James.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! James sizes up McDaniel with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDaniel takes one on the chin but seems OK.
James stuns McDaniel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. James lands with a nice combination. McDaniel backs away looking to recover.
McDaniel is rocked! James fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops McDaniel to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! McDaniel looks to clinch but James throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! McDaniel taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Fresenius James!
