Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leandro Espada!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Espada is just out of range.
Espada looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Johnson throws a series of punches but Espada avoids them all with ease.
Johnson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Espada backs up against the cage.


It looks like Leandro Espada has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
An inside leg kick lands from Johnson.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.

A jab-cross combination lands for Johnson and sends Espada crashing to the mat! Johnson follows him down to the mat - Espada regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Espada has hold of Johnson's hands but Johnson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Espada is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?

Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Espada keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson is trying to control. Espada wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Espada doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

Johnson seems to be looking for submissions.

Johnson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Espada defend it? Johnson steps over the head and cranks it - Espada is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Johnson!
