Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dwayne Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ham Burglar! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burglar shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burglar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Burglar wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burglar! Burglar is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea. Burglar regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burglar tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Burglar is defending well. Burglar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burglar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Burglar keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burglar on the ground. Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burglar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Burglar's legs - danger averted. Burglar keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Burglar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johnson trying to control but Burglar is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Burglar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well. Johnson trying to control but Burglar is working from the bottom. Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Burglar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Burglar manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Burglar's guard. Burglar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson postures up in Burglar's guard and throws a big left but Burglar blocks it. Burglar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burglar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Burglar looks gassed! Johnson wants to control from the top but Burglar keeps moving. Burglar has his feet on Johnson's thighs here. He's pushed Johnson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Johnson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
