Tate comes to the ring accompanied by Looking out my back door - C.C.R.. Jack Mara looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Mara!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mara lands with a thumping leg kick.
Tate keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mara fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mara moves in looking to clinch but Tate pushes him off.
Mara tries to clinch but Tate moves out of range.

Tate closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tate lands in his opponent's guard.
Tate loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tate tries to stand but Mara is controlling from the bottom.
Tate is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Tate decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mara doesn't manage to clinch there - Tate circles away.

Tate takes the fight into the clinch.
Tate drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mara pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Tate counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mara's guard now.
Tate trying to control the position from guard on top but Mara is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mara has momentary wrist control but Tate slips an elbow through the middle.

Mara looking for a guillotine here but Tate defends easily.

Mara can't keep his opponent in guard - Tate advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tate throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Tate perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Tate wants to work for an arm triangle but Mara is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mara is bucking up trying to escape but Tate cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Tate moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mara has worked his arm free - good work by Mara!
Tate wants to control but Mara is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tate is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mara's half guard.
Mara is staying active underneath Tate, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tate drops Mara with a beautiful combination! Mara stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Tate is looking for the KO!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tate stands up over Mara, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tate distracts Mara with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tate not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Tate scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Tate working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mara's head.
Mara takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tate is pushing down on Mara's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mara is fighting to maintain full guard but Tate has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mara's head.
Tate is taking a breather. Mara says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tate is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mara can do to turn this around?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tate seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mara for as long as he can get away with.
Mara is refusing to be controlled, as Tate sits in half guard.
Tate moves into full mount! Mara won't be happy about that!

Well Tate has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
