Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emanuel Diaz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Valentine! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentine is looking to chop away at Diaz's legs. Valentine waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. Diaz has a takedown stuffed. Diaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Valentine controlling Diaz's posture. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Valentine is keeping the position. Valentine is controlling Diaz's posture. Diaz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Valentine looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Valentine is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz preventing the sweep.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Valentine throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Alexander Valentine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Valentine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz. Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Valentine.
Valentine misses with a series of wild punches.
Valentine lands with an uppercut that bounces Diaz off the cage and back into rage. Valentine throws a chopping leg kick but Diaz manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Valentine throws a hook but Diaz avoids it easily. No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt. Diaz tries for a takedown but Valentine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emanuel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine digs a good body shot into Diaz's ribs. Valentine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away. Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Valentine.
An inside leg kick lands from Valentine. Valentine takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Valentine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz moves out of range as Valentine strikes. Some wild striking there from Valentine.
Valentine connects with a jab. Valentine fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Diaz is out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Valentine throws a nice outside leg kick. Valentine connects with a single shot there. Valentine lands a nice looking body shot.
Valentine cracks Diaz with a good jab. Diaz takes one on the button. Valentine misses with the combination.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valentine tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valentine to the ground. Valentine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz shoots in and drives through. Valentine sprawls well. Valentine fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Valentine scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Valentine cracks Diaz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Valentine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valentine lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Emanuel Diaz has been cut. A nice inside leg kick there by Valentine. That's going to slow Diaz down. Diaz with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Valentine to score with a decent uppercut. Valentine fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Valentine lands a hook that stumbles Diaz back into the cage. Valentine follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Diaz to the canvas! Valentine pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Diaz has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
