Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Emelianenko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Andrews does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Andrews has eaten all the pies!
Emelianenko wants to stand but Andrews has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Emelianenko decides to return to a standing position.
Emelianenko fails with the takedown.

Andrews shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Andrews showed some decent athleticism there.
Andrews content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Emelianenko looking for a kimura from the bottom but Andrews passes into side control!

Andrews has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Emelianenko!

Emelianenko is in a horrible position here. Andrews smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Andrews postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Emelianenko looks a forlorn figure.

Andrews jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Emelianenko manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Andrews tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andrews has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko tries to bench press Andrews off him but Andrews keeps the position.

Andrews tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andrews has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Andrews dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Andrews dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fedor Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Andrews.
Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up with Andrews, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes Andrews against the cage but Andrews circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Andrews shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Emelianenko won't allow Andrews to pass to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Andrews misses with a head shot. Emelianenko uses the momentum to regain guard.
Andrews wants to stand but Emelianenko has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Andrews is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Emelianenko has his feet on Andrews's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Emelianenko tries to clinch there but Andrews circles away.

and Andrews decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Emelianenko's guard.

Emelianenko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Emelianenko will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Mike Andrews has got the better of the ground game so far.
Emelianenko is trying to control the position but Andrews postures up.
Andrews wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Emelianenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Andrews's waist but Andrews gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fedor Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mike Andrews showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Andrews drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Emelianenko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Andrews is controlling him well.
Andrews wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping him busy.

Andrews stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Andrews looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Andrews postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Emelianenko to stand up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Emelianenko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Andrews to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Andrews shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Emelianenko sprawls well. Emelianenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Andrews gets slowly back to his feet.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Andrews swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Andrews closes this distance looking for a takedown but Emelianenko circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Andrews is defended easily by Emelianenko.
Fedor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Andrews.
Andrews slips a jab and a cross from Emelianenko.
Andrews closes the distance and clinches up with Emelianenko, looking for a takedown. Andrews pushes Emelianenko against the cage but Emelianenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Andrews cracks Emelianenko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Andrews comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Andrews has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
