The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Castro manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wright throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wright wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Castro can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wright stops Castro from standing up.

Wright throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wright working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Castro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Wright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Castro but Castro pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wright gets the takedown into side control.
Wright connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Castro some visible discomfort.

Castro is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wright has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Wright misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Castro wants to get back to his feet but Wright drags him back down.
Castro is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Wright scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Castro is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Wright can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
