4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Niklas Konrad! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Konrad goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Frank Powers has been cut. Konrad tries to bum rush Powers with a series of wild strikes but Powers uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Niklas Konrad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Powers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Konrad.
Powers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Konrad sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Powers somewhat. Powers tries to bum rush Konrad with a series of wild strikes but Konrad uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Powers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Konrad fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Konrad is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Powers asserts his dominance and retains side control. Powers wants to control but Konrad is keeping him busy. Konrad prevents Powers from improving position. Powers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Konrad sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Konrad is trying to buck Powers off.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Powers taking a break here but Konrad is having none of it and regains half guard.
