Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Takata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Didymus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Didymus has chosen Welcome to the TerrorDome as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Shinya Takata has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shinya Takata! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sir Didymus! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Didymus throws a lazy right hand but Takata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Takata tests Didymus's chin there with a solid looking shot. Didymus checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A big left from Takata misses. Takata fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Didymus checks it well. Takata tries to bum rush Didymus with a series of wild strikes but Didymus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Didymus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Takata is desperately trying to improve his position but Didymus has a good base and remains in mount. Didymus is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Takata has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Takata stops Didymus from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Didymus wants to control the pace but Takata is squirming around nicely. Takata just holding on. Didymus wants to control the pace but Takata is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takata is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Takata is trying to stand up. Takata is controlling an arm, preventing Didymus from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Didymus trying to control but he's not successful this time. Takata wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Didymus is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Takata is defending well though. Didymus let's go of the attempt for now. Takata wants to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Didymus is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Didymus patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Takata manages to stand up with Didymus still on his back. Eventually Didymus drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Didymus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Takata. Shinya Takata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takata misses with a looping right. Takata scores with a jab to the jaw. Didymus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takata. Didymus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takata as he jumps to the side. Takata stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Takata wants it to stay on the feet. Didymus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Takata fails with the takedown and Didymus counters with a takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sir Didymus dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Takata throws a looping overhand right but Didymus ducks down to avoid it. Didymus gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Didymus fails with a takedown attempt. Takata defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Didymus. Didymus swings and misses with a hook to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Didymus throws a body punch but Takata moves out of range. Takata fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Didymus manages to avoid it. Takata tries a low kick but Didymus avoids it. Didymus scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Takata throws a predictable looking body shot
and Didymus counters with a shoot takedown. Takata fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Didymus pushes down on Takata's leg and manages to get into half guard. Didymus has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Didymus looking to control but Takata is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Didymus seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Takata is holding on tight.
Takata is squirming around, avoiding Didymus's attempts to control the action. Didymus avoids the attempt from Takata to control. Takata is desperately trying to improve his position but Didymus has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Didymus goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Takata is on top in guard.
Didymus is looking for a triangle but Takata pushes his legs off easily.

Didymus is breathing heavily. Didymus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Takata escapes and gets back to his feet. Takata ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Takata lands a head shot. Takata throws a leg kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takata lands with an overhand left. Takata throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takata scores with the left hand. Didymus knows he should have avoided that one. Takata throws a right hand that Didymus ducks under and follows up with a left that Didymus also avoids with ease. Takata throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A leg kick checked by Didymus. Takata throws a jab when Didymus was well out of range. Takata is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Didymus walks into a jab. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Didymus checks a leg kick. Takata attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Didymus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Takata.
Takata displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Didymus. Shinya Takata has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sir Didymus. Takata is looking to score with low kicks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takata throws a jab but it's blocked by Didymus. A jab from Didymus misses. Takata stalks Didymus and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Didymus's face. Didymus staggers backwards, shaken. Takata walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Didymus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Didymus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Didymus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takata tries a low kick but Didymus avoids it. Takata misses with a takedown and Didymus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Takata lands a jab-cross combination. Takata tries for a takedown but Didymus circles away easily and Didymus counters with a straight right hand. Didymus darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Didymus is trying to control the action in half guard but Takata is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shinya Takata will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Didymus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takata swivels and escapes. Didymus displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Takata throws out the jab. Didymus fails with a takedown attempt. A low kick from Takata misses so Didymus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Takata manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Didymus manages to get himself to full guard.
Didymus has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takata is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Didymus. Takata working the ground and pound. Didymus is trying to get back to half guard. Takata cracks Didymus with a big right hand but Didymus just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takata in side control, throwing shots but Didymus defends. Takata works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Didymus is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Takata's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sir Didymus has got the better of the ground game so far. Takata not landing any meaningful shots this time. Didymus looking for submissions off his back. Didymus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Didymus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Takata. Takata missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Didymus looking for submissions off his back. Takata is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Takata prevents Didymus from improving his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Good shot there by Takata. Nice jab there from Takata. Didymus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takata cracks Didymus with an open hand slap. Takata moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Didymus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Takata. Takata throws a jab when Didymus was well out of range. Takata lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Didymus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takata manages to avoid it. Didymus is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Takata rather than just go for the knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takata gets the takedown into side control. Takata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Didymus keeps working. Didymus sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Didymus gets full guard. Didymus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Takata chips away with some ground and pound. Takata passes easily into side control. Nice work. Didymus manages to work his way to half guard, despite Takata's best efforts. Didymus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Didymus is trying to get back to full guard. Takata winds up and cracks Didymus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Didymus regains full guard. Nicely done. Didymus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takata can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Didymus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Takata doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Takata manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Didymus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takata can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Didymus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Takata doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Takata manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Didymus is looking for a triangle but Takata pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shinya Takata. I think Takata has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
