Ivanov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Farewell of Slavianka . Stepan Ivanov is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ass defends it nicely.
Stepan Ivanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ivanov shoots in for a takedown but Ass shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ivanov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ass as he jumps to the side.

Ivanov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ass lands a big head kick that sends Ivanov tumbling to the mat! Ass takes a step backwards and waves Ivanov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Stepan Ivanov has been cut.
Ass slaps away a takedown attempt from Ivanov, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ivanov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ivanov lands in his opponent's guard.

Ass is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ivanov is controlling him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ivanov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ass doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ivanov.
Ivanov is trying to control. Ass wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ivanov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ivanov wants to pass to mount but Ass is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ivanov is looking for a kimura here.
Ivanov wants to control but Ass is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ivanov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ass is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ivanov is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ivanov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ass knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ass gets in close and instigates a clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Ass manages to break the clinch.

Ivanov looks for a takedown but Ass sprawls well.
Ivanov fails with the takedown.
Ivanov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ass seems to be stalking Ivanov here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Ivanov drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
