Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Roscoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and danny tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roscoe comes into the arena with Forgot About Dre blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as danny tran enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Roscoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
tran feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
tran won't allow Roscoe to get back to his feet.
tran decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
tran shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Roscoe but Roscoe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
tran circles away from the clinch attempt.
tran throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roscoe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Roscoe counters with a stiff right hand.
Damien Roscoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roscoe misses with a two punch combination.
Roscoe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
tran closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - tran lands in his opponent's guard.

Roscoe has his foot on tran's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. tran works his way back into a safe position though.

Roscoe throws a wild body kick that tran sees coming a mile off.
Roscoe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around tran's waist but tran gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roscoe off to one side.

tran fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Roscoe sprawls well initially but tran persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

tran is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Roscoe!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
tran had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Roscoe is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. tran Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Roscoe's back instead.
tran controlling well, preventing Roscoe from escaping the position.
Roscoe staying busy and making it hard for tran to control.
tran lands a shot to the head.

and Roscoe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in tran's guard.

tran has his feet on Roscoe's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Roscoe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fighters circling - Roscoe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
tran shoots for a double leg takedown but Roscoe sprawls well. He's pushed tran's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

so tran counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

and tran counters with a big head kick but Roscoe shrugs it off.
Roscoe throws out a loose jab but tran uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roscoe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oooh a lovely combination from Roscoe sends tran down but not out. Roscoe dives into side control looking to finish.

Roscoe cracks tran with a big right hand but tran just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
