Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Flintoff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Park! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flintoff just misses with a punch to the body.
Flintoff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Flintoff wants it to stay on the feet. Park fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Flintoff avoids it really well and circles away. Flintoff throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Park sees it coming and avoids it easily. Park shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flintoff as he jumps to the side. Andrew Flintoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Park. Park tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flintoff swivels and escapes. Park looks gassed! Park moves out of range as Flintoff strikes. Park tries to shoot in for a takedown. It looks like Peter Park has been cut. Park shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flintoff as he jumps to the side. Flintoff misses with a looping left. Park looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Flintoff misses with a hook. Park ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flintoff closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Park did well to prevent Flintoff getting side control. Flintoff looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Park with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ground and pound from Flintoff. Park is refusing to be controlled, as Flintoff sits in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Park can do anything to dispel that myth. Park on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flintoff looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Park with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Park is rocked! Flintoff takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Park is still in real trouble! Can Flintoff finish him? Flintoff lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Park quite badly. Park pulls Flintoff in close trying to recover. Flintoff postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Park on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Park doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
